Shadow Shot Sunday - Centrepoint

I was in Sydney last weekend for a school reunion and met up with our daughters on Monday for a girly trip to the city.  This inner city shopping mecca, Centrepoint, has been closed for many months of reconstruction, causing no small amount of withdrawal symptoms among serious shoppers.  It still has a long way to go, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

The jury is still out on the patterned glass, but it does make for interesting shadowed reflections of the department store across the road.

Hey Harriet hosts Shadow Shot Sunday and it's always well worth a look.

The patterned glass on the reflected building is really nice, colorful and attention getting. A shopping mecca still wants to attract more shoppers, so any style motif that pulls shoppers in is a good thing (say the retailers, anyway)...

You captured some nice reflections and shadows on this shopping venue.

Have I mentioned that I really like the name of your blog?

Fascinating structure...and shopping withdrawals...so heartless, what's a girl gonna do...now you know what it's like in the winter in Northern US of A...it's brutal girl. You don't even want to walk outside, your nose freezes shut, your car won't start and takes forever to heat, not to mention the doors being frozen shut, so you can't even get in to start the car...all of this craziness boils down to cabin fever...have mercy on us poor slobs, but the snow is gone and Spring is nearly here...YAYYYY...

That's a cool shot! It's been ages since I've been to Centrepoint so it will be interesting to see the changes when I'm next there.

And hey I like your new blog header Robyn!

Most interesting is the reflections of the nearby buildings. I really enjoyed perusing some of your other posts too. The Colors were so enjoyable to view!

Nice visiting with you,

We haven't been to a mall to shop for 3 1/2 months...so we feel your pain :)
The windows are a bit interesting - but they do make lovely shadows!
Thanks for the good wishes for our open house...were quite looking forward to it!!

Beautiful building and the glass is exquisite! I can see why the withdrawals are in order!
Oh, and those dresses and skirts int he slide show! I am envious that those sweet skirts don't come in adult sizes! I love you sense of style and putting things together. Very talented, you are!

Not sure about that patterned glass...looks a bit dated already...re the shoppers lamenting it's reconstruction..geez if I lived down there I'd be quite happy to sit in that Queen Victoria Building drinking tea and nibbling on bikkies...
