Shadow Shot Sunday # 48

It's that time of the week again and this is a shot of some figs my husband brought home from a country trip a week or so ago.

We have had fig and tart, figs with honey and ice cream, cheese, crackers and figs - you name it, we've tried it. If life hands you a fig, you eat it.

For some truly interesting and beautiful shadow shots, go to Hey Harriet's blog and you won't be disappointed.

Oh, and autumn really kicked in yesterday here in Brisbane. For all you good folk who reside in the northern hemisphere, you will be happy to know that it dropped to a chilly 82 degrees. More of the same is expected today. Life is tough in the Sunshine State.

Great nutritious shadow! Would you believe, I have never eaten a fresh fig but I have loved fig jam!

such a beautiful bowl of fruit and perfect circle shadow... it reminds me of that imagist poem about plums by William Carlos Williams...do you know it??

I thought they were pears at first.
They look pretty in that bowl. The fig tarts sound delicious.

The figs in California have a deep red skin with bits of green.

Beautiful photo, so colourful too. We're loving the pears right now. I'm also enjoying the blue sky and chilly air.

Oh and your comment on my blog about pizza just cracked me up ;D

If life hands you a fig.... sounds like a great bumper sticker.

Mmmm...figs! And I agree with 'Gallery Juana' about them looking like pears!

Yes we've been quite lucky so far with our mild autumn temps. I expect they'll drop suddenly when we least expect it. Even so, our coldest winter temps are probably laughable to our friends overseas!

I've never seen a fig before! They really do look like pears!
Happy Fall to you!

yes, ditto on the pears, those are some gigantic figs! sounds like you might be all figged out. We have daffodils and tulips here it Victoria, but nothing as luscious as figs.

lovely shadow shot, something so easy to miss but there it is that perfect circle. Thanks to Tracey we're all out there looking a little more carefully at what's around us.

I think that's the perfect shadow. Now I want some fruit, too. ;-)

What a pretty shadow shot - love the colors of the figs & the bowl that they are in. I don't think we've ever ate a fig. We've used fig paste, ate fig newtons - what a treat to have them fresh on your table!!

Lovely photo.

(I have never eaten a fig. They scare me. Kind of funky looking. I have a fig phobia!)

Now that's one fruit we hardly get here, they are all imported and very expensive. Great shadow too :P

Mmmm, all your figgy delicacies sound so good!

Oh, and I can assure you, my Ultimate Supergreens juice only tastes worse than it looks for the first couple of weeks....then you just get used to it :)

Yes i'm loving figs at the moment too! i'm currently staring at four right now and dreaming of the yummy caramelised figs with macadamia nut praline ice-cream Kym made me last week. hmm, yummo! surely there's no calories in that as the goodness of the figs must outweigh the badness of the caramelised sauce and ice-cream???

Now you've got my mouth watering Robyn and I really need a fig fix. Tony goes on the best trips no wonder you look forward to his return with bounties like these.
